The State Disaster Management Plan of Maharashtra has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Disaster Management Act 2005. It is reviewed and updated periodically, keeping with the national and global best practices and the evolving disaster risks and the risk profile of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra’s SDMP was first prepared in 2014, with subsequent revised versions published periodically. The SDMP 2023 is attuned to the National Disaster Management Plan 2019, broadly considering the PM 10 Point Agenda, and the three international frameworks, The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, Paris Agreement on Change Conference (COP21), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
