The District Disaster Management Plans (DDMPs) aim to outline preparedness and mitigation strategies to minimize the risk of any hazards at the district level. DDMPs are formulated after analyzing the vulnerabilities in the respective districts and assessing the administration’s capacities in terms of resources, skilled manpower, empowered community volunteers, and available structural and non-structural government machinery to enable prompt response at the time of disasters or emergencies. All 36 districts of Maharashtra have prepared their respective DDMPs.
